Finally transcoding

My poor mythtv server has been filled to capacity (it's amazing how quickly 250 GB get consumed when you throw HD video at it). Over the weekend I recorded the Florida/Tennessee game, and I wanted to keep the game, but clear off the 36+ GB of space it was consuming. So yesterday evening, I sat around and struggled to get nuvexport to output a decent looking transcoded version of the game. No matter what settings I used, I always got a crappy looking, over-pixelated mess. Tonight, I switched from having ffmpeg running the encoding over to mencoder, and the swing mencoder took at the transcoding produced a nice, sharp xvid down-convert of the HD stream.

So now my server is happily churning away at transcoding the 4 hours of video. The unfortunate part is that even with a decent amd64 processor, I'm still getting about 11fps. Seeing that most of the processor power is spent serving up this site to spammers from around the world, I don't think I'll sweat it too much.

Oh, and I totally have my eye on this. What geek wouldn't want 2 TB of network storage...?

If you're in not good state and have got no cash to move out from that, you will have to take the business loans. Just because it would aid you definitely. I take credit loan every time I need and feel fine just because of that.
