Yes, I'm still one of the few people playing Vanguard. Game Update #2 hit a week or so ago, and the server mergers are scheduled to go down this upcoming week. GU2 had some pretty decent changes to the LFG interface, and it has certainly made connecting with people easier. I have noticed however, that it tends to make you more accessible for what other people want to do. I set my preferred dungeon/quests to some of the stuff around Skawlra Rock (since I still would like to try and get the Hunter's League weapon), but I never really got any bites. I did however get a few invites to help other groups run places like Trengal Keep and Coterie Infineum, which was a lot of fun. My attitude towards the game is pretty much based on the last time I grouped up. Everytime I group, I have a great time and want to play more, but if I log in don't group for a while, I get a *meh* feeling. I'm hoping, along with everyone else, that the mergers combined with the LFG enhancements, make the game feel not so empty.
I have also been working on the unicorn mount quest. This quest is supposed to be long and difficult, to make the reward seem worthwhile. Someone should let the developers know that quests that involve killing 50+ mobs is long, but in no way enjoyable. This is one quest where the developers (in my opinion) were still stuck in their generation 2 mindset. They have a rich diplomacy and crafting system at their command, that should have been integrated into the quest line. So, instead of going and killing 45 lizardmen (Skrilien), why couldn't I have parlayed with their chief to convince them to leave a local tribe of unicorns alone? Or the few quests where you fetch pieces to build some unicorn communication device, it would've been nice to have the option of whacking critters to assemble the components, or perhaps get a bucket of parts that you could bring to a crafter who could cobble them together.
Also, I went through my screenshot folder and uploaded a few more screenies from Vanguard. Most of them are of me cruising around on a rented flying mount. I definitely prefer the griffin over the wyvern. Check them out here.
